21".... this bike is huge.

I'm 5' 10" and ride 17.5" and 18" frames.

Would be a good idea to sit on and if possible ride any bike prior to purchase... "Ride the bike don't let the bike ride you!"

Steel frame, so not light.

Steel frame, so will soak up the bumps. But agree it is not likely to be light - that does not stop it being a good price.

Muddy Fox used to be a good brand, but I don't think they are anymore. That said, this bike will be fine for pottering around on/short commutes/light off-road riding and for what MOST people would need it for.

I have a 31" inside leg and ride a 17" frame (a medium). 21" will be an XL.

Looks like no rear suspension, no disc brakes, heavy steel frame but at least the name sounds lightweight...Air!

Well known brand but never was a realistic £200 bike in the first place.

Like a school report, I'm sure you could do better..,,,,

It wont be as heavy as a full suspension bike with disk brakes of a similar price. Would definitely stick with v-brakes in this price range anyway as they are likely to work better than cheap disks.

That's a big frame! If your on the lower end of this measurement your gonna have the saddle on the top tube and have alot of needless weight to slog around.

£99 is a bargain though for the casual rider if you can get the fit ok.

Looks to me like this is just about at its value at £100. If you really have to spend only £100 on a bike then you're surely better off going to Halfords and at least getting one that fits you. It worries me that the sizing of Argos's description is very contradictory - a 21" MTB frame is XL by anyone's standards (suitable for 6' to 6'1" at the very minimum), yet the specs say it's suitable for a 29"-35" leg. That's imposssible - there's really no bike size that's suitable for that range at all.

This one from Halfords seems essentially the same spec for roughly the same money. There's nothing in the brand names (Apollo vs. Muddy Fox) at this price. Obviously it's still Halfords, but that's got to be better than Argos.

i wouldn't recommend an Apollo bike at all. The price they are sold at "SALE" are the price they are worth. They were never and are not worth the full price. Mountain bikes are made to survive heavy duty and if you want a half decent one you'll have to pay £200 plus.

Adding heat to this offer though as Muddy Fox was always a good make of bike
