With poundland and other sub pound stores when it comes to food items you always have to ask how short is the best before date? (next week in most cases).
That's certainly the case of B&M shops. I remember my gf buying a multibag of Nic Nak crisps and we complained to an assistant in the shop about them being a couple off weeks past the date and tasting cheewy and stale.
Couldn't beleive it when she actually had a go at me for daring to complain and advising me (incorrectly) that sell by dates were not law but just a "rough guideline!"
I don't shop in Poundland very often but can vouch for Home Bargains, who seem to be the king of discount stores, as all their stuff normally seems to be well within date unless otherwise stated.
