Anyone ordering one of these should note that they are 1.8" drives and do not have standard 2.5/3.5" SATA power/data connectors. To connect one to a normal desktop or laptop you need a MicroSATA/SATA converter that passes through 3.3v. And desktops need to have a PSU that supplies 3.3v to its SATA power plugs; many of them don't, especially cheaper ones, because 3.3v isn't needed by hard drives or 2.5" SSDs.

And presumably you need 1.8" mounting plates for 2.5"/3.5" bays as well?

Intel have just replaced the old 50nm ssd's with new 34nm ones. The old ones were black and the new one stainless steel covered.

Do not buy these old ones!
