PLEASE NOTE: This is intended to show that o2 broadband gives better value than Be, but this is assuming you already have an o2 mobile (contract or P&G) to benefit from the £5/mo broadband discount
Be give you the first 12 months half price, working out at £6.75 a month. That's £81 over the contract length. With this, you get up to 8mbit speeds.
If you look at the o2 standard package, it is £7.34 a month, but you get the first 3 months free (before 31st October - same expiry as the Be* offer) which means it costs you £66.06 over the contract length. So, right away your already saving £14.94, and your also getting free McAfee internet security, 100 web texts a month, 1GB email account etc.
Now, let's consider Quidco for a moment. If you took the Be* deal, it's effectively £41 over a year, working out at £3.33 a month. Quidco give £50 for the o2 Standard package, which brings it to £16.06 over a year, working out at £1.34 a month.
So, if your after value for money then there's no competition - o2 wins hands down. Remember o2 own Be* so they use the same network & equipment at the exchange. It's a no brainer!
Im confused why the Be* one got so much heat considering the above. But, hope I can help make some peoples wallets a bit happier!
PS. With the current 3 month offer, Quidco also offer £75 cashback on the Premium (20mbit) package. That works out to be £13.11 over a year, making it effectively £1.10 a month! So if quidco tracks, this is obviously the best value broadband on the planet.
