I couldn't agree more. There is a truly awful dubbed version available that is painful to watch.

This series was, and is, just excellent and worth watching from start to finish. I would compare it to Band of Brothers which I hope most would agree is excellent!!

I never understood where the boot appears in the show. I watched it all and apart from a few Jack boots, nothing.

Definitely! Drags out the story properly, making it feel like a tour on-board. You get to know the characters much better......and your German improves!

Just looked on the site, are you sure this is - Das Boot - Complete Mini Series DVD (Uncut & Digitally Remastered)?
I couldnt find that version.
