Leatherman Skeletool £37 delivered at Amazon

£37.00

229°

FOUND BY: Goldeneye243 1 month, 5 days ago

Has been on at this price before, but thought I would post it again.

Not legal to carry every day as the blade locks, but still a great tool to use around the house or workshop.

Wow, didn't realise that the simple lock function made it illegal to carry in public places.

Can't believe they don't mention that crucial rule on the directgov website.

Great price, but I like my Gerber MP800 better. It has proper pliers and cable cutters, also the Leatherman's tool/bit adaptor is a much better design.

Have had mine for ~ 5years, replaced once when the scissors broke.

As mentioned locking blades must only be carried by people using them to carry out their professional duties (ie: electrician etc) and must not be carried in a manner where they are too easily accessible (ie: jacket/jeans pocket is not allowed, they must be securely stored in the tool box when not used).

Agreed, banning knifes doesn't root out the problem. It does however greatly reduce the risk of getting stabbed, IMO.

i wouldnt get one of these. You dont need a locking blade for around the house. Therefore, its pointless in this country.

I've got a Leatherman Micra permanently on my pocket key ring and it's without a doubt the most useful thing i've ever bought for the money. The scissors are very useful. I got a mint condition one off a well known auction site for a fiver.

I just have to be careful to remember to leave it at home next time I go through somewhere like Birmingham airport. Had to post the thing back home to myself.

Here's a Micra...

Thats an ignorant comment.

Its a safety issue. If i had a pound for all the stories ive head from people about them slipping and the blade closing on their hand or something similar when using a standard swiss army knife i would be a rich man.

a locking blade is a safety feature.

Many Casualty departments would argue otherwise! A locking blade is essential if you're using this for DIY tasks, otherwise it's an accident waiting to happen.
