I think the story you are referring to was where his food is prepped in a central kitchen which is a stones throw from the actual restaurants. - Well that just seems like good business sense to me. Also - there are very few restaurants these days that don't buy stuff in. Can you really see your local Dog and Duck employing a pastry chef in these climes?
Although his food looks good on the tv I would rather use the £15 for a chinese take away in the comfort of my own home. Good deal if your a true GR fan though.
I ate the the Narrow, probably a year ago now, wasn't anything special. £15 for 2 courses is cheaper than it would be a la carte, but as far as I can tell, LastMinute aren't offering this any cheaper than it usually would be. http://www.gordonramsay.com/thenarrow/menus/setlunch/
More than once I have heard him slagging off special offers run by owners of failing restaurants.... if you can't beat them, join them seems to be the order of the day now!

More than once I have heard him suggesting special offers to owners of failing restaurants - for example the failing bistro in Paris where he went for a homemade tomato soup and garlic bread lunch in the middle of the capital for 5 euros - perhaps we are watching different shows?
