Ipod Touch 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen - Help Please ....

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the 2nd and 3rd gen Ipod Touch is (apart from price)? What does the 3rd have that the 2nd doesn't?

Gen 3 has a faster cpu and 32 and 64 gig memory. Not sure about voice control, that might be just the iphone 3gs. . .

I think 3rd gen are the recent released 32gb and 64gb touches that have the same technology as the iphone 3GS, that is to say, the faster technology, and the price. Thats all.

Thanks guys. Just realised when reading replies I should have said I was looking at the 8gig size. Has that one been modified much between generations? Does it have bluetooth - I've googled but can't find anywhere that says it definitely has or hasn't.

Everyone, you don't have to be called Steve/n to answer!!! All advice appreciated.

LOL....some companies are "selling" the 8GB as 3rd gen but the 8GB does not have the new faster technology, its exactly the same as the 2ndGen model.

The bluetooth is activated within the unit when the firmware is upgrades to v3 and above. but beware that you cant connect any bluetooth device like mobile phone type headsets. Its very fussy about the hardware that it will allow to be connected to it and it will mostly be bluetooth speaker units and bluetooth headphones.

PS : my name isnt Steven either..lol

Thanks shibi. To follow up on the questions you asked me. I'm more than sure that it will keep a kid happy using the Ipod Touch, I wish I got spoiled with presents like that when I was a kid! lol....

as for using the bluetooth to transfer pix from your phone to the ipod, thats a non-starter, that service hasnt been included/activated by Apple. The bluetooth is purely for audio purposes only as far as I'm aware.
