Why post cold just because its the upgrade version? All you need to do is install it on a clean/formatted hard drive and during the Win 7 install when it says it can't find a previous version if Windows you put your XP disc in and point it to that. Once it sees the Win XP files on the disc, you carry on with the Win 7 install. A clean/fresh install of Win 7 with full working features.

Have you managed to do that? It didn't work for me - I had to install xp first.

It never said that it couldn't find a previous version of windows - it just kept moaning that my licenece key was invalid.

I got my upgrade for £30 via the student deal but this is decent if you can't get that.

I voted cold because the original post appeared to be for the full version rather than the upgrade and I was pointing out that this was for upgrade only. OP was subsequently edited to say 'upgrade'.
