Cancelling a mobile broadband (dongle) contract

POSTED BY: Trickyjabs 4 weeks, 9 hours ago

Has anyone ever had any luck cancelling a contract for their mobile broadband?

I am currently 6 months into an 18 month contract with Three and despite their signal checker saying we are in a good location, the broadband reception ranges from non-existent to poor at best.

Is there any case history of companies accepting cancellation based on poor signal/reception?

Many thanks for help, rep will be given for any suggestions.

bit of info from my work(dealin with complaints against telecom companies)

"At the end of the interview they said that 3 had confirmed that it would be changing its returns policy and would allow customers who had experienced problems with the network coverage to cancel their contracts if they had problems which could not be resolved.

This means that customers will still have to go through 3’s complaints escalation process in the usual way."

You need to call Otelo (0330 440 1614) and get a reference number and details for 3's Executive Office, based on above info, they should cancel no problem.

Depends why you want to cancel and how long you have had the contract for...and if you cancel and they accept, you would need to return the laptop.

Dont think it matters how long you have left in the contract...try that number for Otelo, get your ref number and the details for Exec office and see how you go...no harm in trying

6 months into contract you will have next to no chance of cancelling the contract.
mainly because it doesnt take 6 months to work out wether you can get a decent connection.
you can email executive.office@three.co.uk but dont hold your breath.
just to put things in to prespective i get speeds of around 2mbs which isnt bad seemings the uk average for landline speeds is 3,6 with most people getting a lot less
