I fail to see how this is a good deal when you can get it on Vodafone with no Quidco needed with 300 minutes and Unlimited texts for £15 /month? Cold from me, i'm afraid.

Where do you find this deal. Looking at Vodafone's website the only £15pm contract which includes a Nokia 5800 is 24 months and 100mins/500texts (link).

The £15pm deal that is 300mins/unlimited texts is a sim-only deal, from looking at the Vodafone site.

My mistake, you have to pay £95 for the phone. the o2 one on there though with 600 minutes and unlimited texts @ £25 but you can get cashback to make it to £17. I fail to see how 200 mins and 300 texts is a good deal at £15 let alone £30. Virgin have only just stopped offering this deal today.

Phone £160 from Play
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/43360...o-nokia-5800-1
1200 mins + unlimited landlines + unlimited texts with £120 cashback via Quidco £25 per month
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/51001...limited-landli
Total price = £160 + £300 - £120 = £340 = £28.33 per month.
If you used 100 extra mins every month via orange deal it would pay for it already. As it stands you get the unlimited text + landline + 1200 anytime any network mins on top. Maybe Just for the 'heavier' users amongst us.

You may want to add the deal details:

Dolphin gives 200 mins plus 300 texts as listed above, but better to go for raccoon, which gives extra 200 landline mins.

Also, 2 months evening and weekend internet is included with these deals. Worth noting that you can add all-the-time internet for £5 per month but if you don't add it when you purchase the contract, i.e. right at the start, it costs more, £7.50 or £8 or something like that.

I took out this deal a month or so ago. Working well. Quidco tracked within an hour and still showing as 150.

Here's the previous thread on this deal, when it was last on, 5 weeks back:

The problem is you seem to ignore the length of the contract. The Virgin one was £15 a month for 18 months and was 200 mins and 300 texts.

Virgin offer = 18 x £15 less £30 Quidco = £240
Orange offer = 12 x £30 less £150 Quidco = £210

Value of a 5800 = £110 (fair price)

Virgin offer = (£240 - £110) / 18 = £13.33 per month
Orange offer = (£210- £110) / 12 = £8.33 per month *

No try and argue it's a worse deal.

* In fact I think it is less than £6 per month as it's not £30 per month as you have direct online billing from Orange.

As long as your Quidco tracks then it is the better offer but I don't think you should rely on it when comparing deals

Why not go for the same phone but take a 24 month contract..

Benefit for 400 mins instead of 200 and unlimited texts.

Cost is £19.57 pm so minus the quidco its about £13 pm for the duration.

Not an amazing deal but not bad either if you are intending sticking with Orange (only option for me) and you don't need any bells and whistles.

I took out a 24 month contract instore with Vodafone. Got a free Nokia 5800, 100 mins and 500 texts (I'm a light user, don't ever use all the allowance) for £10 a month. I thought this was a good deal.
