FOUND BY: mitchgixer6 3 months, 1 week ago

STARTS: 23/11/2009

Popped into my local Blockbuster (Irvine) this afternoon for a look. They had a poster up advertising the Sony BDP-S360 model Blu Ray player along with 4 discs-: Night at the Museum 2, Slumdog Millionaire, Terminator Salvation and Angels and Demons for £149.99. There was a mention on the poster of £20 rental vouchers too, but when I called to confirm the deal the assistant said it was just the 4 discs included. Even so it seemed like a good deal to me.

Edit-: Confirmed it's Online as well as instore. Link to the right should be a direct link.

Take your movie experience in High Definition to the next level with the new Blu-ray Disc player BDP-S360 from Sony. The S360 combines sophisticated design with high-class performance: excellent High Definition picture and sound quality, ease of use and great internet connectivity for BD-Live.

The new Blu-ray Disc player from Sony has been created to get the most out of your High Definition TV. You can experience the superior 1080p High Definition video content giving you sharper pictures, deeper colours and a more dramatic impact.

The Deep Colour technology gives you smoother images and more colour variation when connecting your S360 to a Deep Colour ready HD TV via HDMI, bringing you a more colourful movie experience.

With the PhotoTV HD dedicated still picture display technology you can view your digital photos at their best on your BRAVIA TV.

The Precision Drive HD technology helps you get the most out of your Blu-ray Discs and DVDs, even if they are bent or scratched.

Full HD Audio Decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding to get sound quality so rich and powerful its like listening to the movies original sound track in the studio.

7.1 channel High Definition Surround Sound Bitstream via HDMI connection for an outstanding sound quality

Following the same award-winning design as the PLAYSTATION®3 menu, the XrossMediaBar menu system provides simple and intuitive control to give you a smoother user experience

The Quick Start-up mode allows you to get your Blu-ray Disc player started after just six seconds (6 sec), a time unrivalled by other products available today.

The BRAVIA sync technology enables you synchronise your Blu-ray Disc player to BRAVIA televisions and Home Theatre systems at the touch of a button.

Through the BonusView functionality a separate stream of video will play along with the movie in the form of a picture-in-picture format and show interviews with the films cast and crew, storyboards and other visual content.

I think that I will be tempted to go for this, as I want to buy a couple of the films, so works out as a cheap blu-ray player.
Many thanks.

Is it the 360 or the 360B?

Anyone know the difference?

360B is on Amazon ... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-BDPS360.../dp/B0027FFX4O

This seems a good deal with the bundled movies - Night at the Museum 2 isn't so bad - my little one loved it at the cinema

Not sure, sorry. Wasn't specific on the poster. Maybe call your local store if you're interested and you need to check. BTW, think the "B" is for the Multi-region version.

Region B is the Blu Ray equivalent of Region 2 for DVD.

If it's like the BDP-S350 which I imagine it will be it won't be multi-region out the box, not for blu ray and the same applies for DVDs, although with the BDP-S350 I did get myself a One4All remote control from Argos which after entering a code let me unlock it for multi-region dvd playback only. Not sure, but I don't think there are any region free for Blu Ray yet, unless you get it chipped.

On some players what you do is download a different firmware instead of the update that pop up on the player, this is for other countrys but will work on region b players

That's what I did and it was so easy to do.

Hi,

Apologies - my brain cells are dying after having had a few beers tonight.

So basically this player can be made multi-region blue ray with a few clicks of the remote?

No, they're talking about MR for DVD only.

I don't think that MR for BR is available yet on any player other than a chinese model which was widely talked about in the States called Momitsu http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/hardwa...su_bdp-899.htm

You can however get hardware mods for BR MR but they are quite expensive....
