POSTED BY: fusspot 3 weeks, 5 days ago

EXPIRES: 30/10/2009

Ordered this by mistake for my laptop, needed a 2.5in drive but ordered a 3.5in in error.
Arrived today, packaging for drive has not been opened.
Didn't want the hassle of sending back to retailer and arguing my case for a full refund.

Price includes postage, RM recorded delivery.

Trade for a 2.5in SATA drive 160gb or more, preferably in new condition or less than 6 months old.

Asking Price: 30.00

Send it back under DSR? I doubt you'll get anywhere near £35 for it on here.

Hi
Think I might have a good case for sending it back. When ordering I searched for 'laptop hard drive 2.5'. This drive appeared on the first page of the list and the title did not state 3.5in or desktop so I assumed it was for a laptop. I ordered it in a hurry without reading the full description in an attempt to meet the next day delivery deadline. Paid a premium for the delivery too!

I'll see how it goes on here, if I get a decent enough price I won't bother with the hassle of sending it back to the retailer.

Cheers

That was from ebuyer I think, hang on and I'll have a look...

It's Caviar Green, not Blue- but £38.99. Cheapest delivery (super saver) is £2.58. Alternatively, spend another 11.01 to bring it to £50 and you get free delivery.

If you bought it online, you don't need a reason for returning it. The Distance Selling Regulations give you a 7 day cooling off period during which you can send it back for any reason. The only drawback is that you have to pay the return postage and you'll only get a refund net of delivery charges. However, I doubt you'll get more than £25 for it on here - they can be bought for under £30 if you shop around - so you'll probably be better off returning it.

Just trying to recover my costs/mimimize my loss with this. I paid over £35 for this drive to be delivered next day. Plus, I'll have to pay more postage for it be delivered back to the retailer or on to someone else.
You're right, I am going to be better off sending it back to the retailer as the cost price was £28.74 before postage.
