Seems like a hot deal to me, good reviews for the speaker on the Comet website although some seem to have paid £20 rather than £49.99 (overpriced RRP?). Heat added.

Bought 2 of these this morning after reading reviews on Amazon, where it is the same price but without the free speakers and no Quidco or Topcashback

Also Argos are doing it for £10 more, i.e. £149 plus Free BBC TV programmes download voucher plus £10 voucher if picked up instore but the voucher has to be spent on something else

Its £149 on Marshall Ward but got £11.92 off through Quidco and tracked straight away too

ive always wondered this: does the sound quality come from the ipod you are using or the headphones you use?
For example if i get this and use say £2 headphones OR if i get a cheap mp3 player and use £2 headphones will the sound quality be exactly the same??

(BTW, i know these are a million times better than mp3 players was just wondering what actually affected the sound quality so just gave an example lol )

dont really matter if ur going with ipod/itunes sound quality is farly low in apples list of priorities ease of use far more important

The bitrate and type of file will affect the quality of your music more than anything else. Next up is the quality of headphone, some have bass tubes and the like to give proper ranges etc. I make do with my £4 phillips jobs I got from PCW 2 years back because they have a hook over your ear as I have stupid radar's that wont keep normal headphones in

I would guess that with £2 headphones (the ones they come with will be worth considerably less than £2) these will sound just as rubbish as a cheap MP3 player.

With decent headphones this will sound loads better, and better than a dirt cheap MP3 player. However, there are plenty of cheap MP3 players (from £40 or so, from iriver, Cowon or Creative to name but a few) with similar storage and better sound quality.

There is nothing at all wrong with iPod sound quality, but it isn't a selling point.



Whatever you buy, it'll sound so much better if you spend even just £15 on headphones.

Unfortunately not, but you can get free converters such as Videora which does the job just fine. I think the only file types the iPod Touch will play are H264 and mp4.

When I downloaded Videora there were some video/audio sync issues but there are some easy work arounds for this in the settings. The best I found was to go here http://www.videora.com/en-us/Convert...lp/power-mode/ and use "Solution 2 - Try A/V Sync Fix #1" and "Solution 3 - Try A/V Sync Fix #2", which can be found near the bottom of the page (they take about 2 mins to change).

Be careful if you do end up downloading free video converters from the net - I spent 4 hours trying to delete some malware I picked up along the way
