If you're looking for a great little digital camera from a top manufacturer with rechargeable, long life Li-ion battery and a great spec this certainly needs to be on your list. 4x optical zoom and proper optical image stabilisation too. At just 21.2mm thick and 115gm you'll be happy to carry it in a pocket all day.

There are a few Panasonics on runout for a little less if you can find them but this one is part of the latest range and available from stock (on-line deal only).

Panasonics are a cut above the average and used to be priced accordingly but these days they are very competitive on price.

You obviously don't know too much about the modern day camera market. Panasonic probably win more awards for their cameras than any other manufacturer. Just look for the reviews online.

Thanks for this. I must have spent this much driving round to Tesco stores hunting for the £69.97 FS4.

Only the silver is available at this price, which is much cheaper than I can see this model anywhere else.

What history have panasonic in building great cameras
They may not have been marketing cameras since the steam age but for quite a few years now they have been acknowledged as building some of the very best compact cameras around (in fact some of the best quality consumer electronics generally). I understand they have built compact cameras for the likes of Nikon too though I can't confirm that.

To my mind they have replaced Sony as the most respected of the Japanese electronics brands in many sectors. You don't have to take my word for it, just look up reviews of their products.

You sound strangely out of touch.

Glad to help. Would like to hear what you think of it if you buy it.
There were a few FS4s still kicking around a week ago but all have now gone in my local stores (incl a display one they let go for £60).
