he said he wanted it to be up there and remembered with the other great comedies like west side story Annie hall and a few others i cant remember.

that by far is the best joke he has ever told

Just for balance, I don't really like Mr Gervais, but I did enjoy this film. Not a laugh out loud kind of film, more subtle than that, and much better than another american teen comedy clone.
