cool I will keep my eyes out here then, nice deal, so anyone here know much about putting it in, as I want it in the eves of the loft and i have heard you have to keep it 5cm away from roof titles but how you meant to stop it, could i staple thick plastic sheeting 5cm away and then lay this on top and then cover it with something else to stop it falling out? if that makes sence? lol

rockwool flexi would be better for that as it's designed to compress inbetween joists and hold without sagging but that's not on offer im afraid
tri iso super 10 is also good it's a space age material about 1/2 (12mm) inch thick but gives the same insulation as 8 inch (200mm) convenstional insulation and can be stapled to rafters etc
expensive though C £150 + vat for 20m2

Would my Idea not work then? I have some very thick plastic sheeting, i was going to staple that 5cm away form the roof tiles and then put this up with help from a friend and then staple some more plastic over the joists to hold it in. Thanks for your help as I am on a very tight budget and have this thick plastic sheeting laying about and cant have cavity wall insulation as i dont have cavities :(.
Also 1 last question i already have insulation on the floor of my loft is this worth keeping down when i put insulation between the eves? some people say you should take it out so the roof insulation holds the heat in others say separte them lol

Wow this is some deal. Really hope I don't miss it. I'm going to have to sit on the computer 24-7 for next week or so, so that I can get in on the act.

I assume you have a loft extension?

I'm extending into mine at the moment. I've not put any insulation in the floor as I want the heat to rise into there, but I'm going to put insulation in the ceiling of the loft.

Not sure about keeping it away from the tiles. I was just going to do the plastic sheet type thing you said but not expand out the insulation so much so it doesn't get too near the tiles. I think I'm right in that you have to fluff this stuff out? It starts very compressed and you have to expand it?

No loft extenstion for me, I have a normal 3 bedroom house, and it has insulation in between the joists and over them going the other direction, so i dont have any loft space for storage.
I would like to take the insulation up that goes over the joists and keep the stuff that goes between them, then I can lay loft flooring in there so i can store stuff up there.

You are meant to keep the insulation 5cm away from titles as it can go moldy and root if you dont have the airflow between the titles and insolution. If you put insulation in the eves without keeping it away, i can just see this sagging onto the tites and that would be bad as you would not be able to see what to fix unless you take it all down, so hopefully someone can tell me if my idea would be ok lol

Just doing mine, gonna try to keep it away from the tiles. I'm not going to hold it back with anything but I can't see how it would move upwards towards the tiles without someone physically moving it.

Unless it expands itself over time??

p.s I've got black material covering the tiles so maybe that's enough to stop it getting wet? Or do you need a big gap before that>
