Stubbly men I need your help! Which type of electric shaver is better?

I have got a Braun foil type shaver at the moment just because I was able to get a good discount on it (still *!*!* expensive) & it's not as good as the rotary type I had before.

My bristles are a little grey now and over the years I have tried all the different types of shaving modes, with the possible exception of using a blow torch like Desperate Dan did.

My conclusion? Use a good quality multi blade manual shaver, the effect is superior to any electric version, it costs less and spares are readily available.

If you want to treat somebody then arrange for them to be shaved by a proper barber who uses a cutthroat, hot towels and proper lather.

I have always used the philips rotary style ones-personal opinion is they give the best electric shave.

Cant personally use wet shave razors cos I bleed all over the place if I do but agree they do give the best shave overall but if you want electric go for the rotary.

If you've got coarse hair like me, then, to repeat the above posters there is no better shave than a wet one. Get the stubble nice and soft beforehand with a hot wet flannel and if possible use a shaving brush for your soap, as this lifts the hairs slightly and makes them easier to scrape off. They tell me moisturising afterwards is good too, but I'm not that much of a metrosexual!

Oh, and a decent quality 3-bladed razor always helps.

yes there was and i think my advice was also ignored on that occasion, i dont often offer serious advice so it should be taken when and where

(BTW the best shave can be got from a good old fashioned single blade safety razor

I know wet shaves are the best but he uses gillette fusion blades and always comes out looking like he's had a fight with it and the razor won ;) ...and he usually misses bits on his neck and corners of his mouth.

He's wanting to try an electric one to see if they're any better for him and so far the rotary sounds better as a trial run...

the 3 rotary heads are best, look at philips coolskin ones, best ive used
