Not a rip-off, yes you forgot it's Apple, you're paying for quality and a lot more, but I'm not going to get a debate started!

Not sure why this is being voted cold, it's the cheapest you will find the end-of-line iMac models anywhere.

I'm sorry, but the iMac is not top quality. Either you haven't used one or you're extremely forgiving.

The 20" one with it's TN screen isn't worth it at all. The 24" one may be worth it but at this price (+£20-30 for a decent mouse) you've got a lot of other options.

Look who's talking Mr Playstation fanboy.

The iMacs are fantastic computers that (this is the important bit) run OS X - They also come with iLife too. Apple make the computer and the software, so they can get them finely tuned to work really well. What you're saying is you expect a massive engined American muscle car vs a finely tuned Ferrari. You might get more horse power but it's how you use that horse power that matters.

You obviously don't know sh*t about how Apple computers compute. Along with every other wintard that has never used a Mac properly (if at all). You just took one look at the price tag and sniffed at it, instead really looking at the tech side. Again I stress if you don't know how OS X runs and operates then you can't talk smack about the components not being bleeding edge.

The 24" iMac is outstanding quality all round - definitely worth it over the 20".

Can I also just say Macs hold their price incredibly well vs PCs which drop like a stone because they are a penny a dozen.

The 24" definitely has a better screen, but I'll just LOL at that comment!

JoeUK knows what he's talking about.

I'm not sure how you can say that. What about the poor stand, the crap selection of ports (badly placed), the lousy bundled mouse or the highly reflective screen which makes it unusable in certain positions relative to any light sources?

Sure, the construction quality is top flight but as long as the ports are solid and the stand is smooth that's at the bottom of my list for a computer/monitor case.

i never said they were rubbish........i said their not worth the price.

theres a massive difference between the two.

for the price apple are charging, they should be building gaming computers.
basically the point is that the hardware is not good enough for the price......and that remains a fact.

and call me a fanboy but atleast the ps3 is worth its price from day 1 since blu-ray players cost £300 alone.

apple computers dont have any new technology in them to make them worth over £500.

I have to completely disagree with your opinion of the value of the iMacs there as they are DEFINITELY worth their price tags in terms of hardware and software (OS-wise). The new range in my opinion is even better.

I don't think many people appreciate your opinions about Apple computers, including me, however I will agree with your PS3 comment
