We are being bah humbug this year... told everyone we aint buying Xmas prezzies and don't want anything, We're still doing the Xmas dinner and the alcohol thought lol! Getting Married next year so need to save as much money as we can... Everyone has been really understanding and alot have said they are going to do the same and not splashing out as much this year for Xmas.... Think everyone is feeling the pinch!
Hya Clarity i'm just starting today,,,, I'm going shopping with a friend ,,,, I hope to get some ideas while i'm out,,,, good luck with your present searching,,,
I try to get finished by the end of October as I have a big family to buy for (32 people), then I can concentrate on all the other stuff that goes on before Christmas like school plays, parties, pantos, Christmas Fairs etc.
Would hate to leave it to the last minute, I get stressed as it is!!!
Xmas shopping is all planned, chicken feet slippers, Omega Seamaster watch and the Beatles CD box set for the missus,26 boxs of Thorntons chocolates to dish out to assorted rellies/friends.
Shouldn't take longer than an hour.

i am nearly there i have been buying throughout the year, i have got the usuall smellys, chocs, perfume etc i have just done 2 hampers for my partners mum and his stepmum i bought the hampers in january from the tesco sale they was reduced to about £20 odd from £100 and odd we used the bits and pieces out of them and i have just refilled them up i am well chuffed with my little self lol.
i haven't even bought one yet, we have only just got over the expense of her 1st birthday so were having to wait until a five week pay packet (which is Decembers) so its going to be madness around the second/third week of December, getting everything at once, but i honestly think were going to have to dip into our savings this year, which is not good

well i am going to do the park christmas savings for next year and just pay them a bit each week as i can no longer afford to find the money any other way and i know if i put it in a savings account i will dip into it when times get hard so if i pay it to them i cant dip into it and they are now protected so if anything was to happen my money would be safe and even my mums joined them as well as she is in the same position as me.

I try to spread the cost and actually start at the January sales, then add bits and pieces each month or when I see a deal on here thats too good to miss.
The only one I leave til late is my sons main present cos kids have a habit of changing their minds. Anyway this year he asked to games for his Wii and PS3 so have got them and Christmas shopping is all done and dusted.
