I own a Panasonic TZ6, and I love it.
Either of the cameras you mention would be an excellent buy, only fault is with the placing of the mode dial on the TZ6/TZ7, it's easy to knock out of position, (as mentioned in most reviews)

Thanks for your feedback, I see the TZ6 hovering around £170 which is very reasonable im not sure whether i need the HD movie in all honesty but it would be nice to have!

Have been looking for cheaper price on this camera. Found one on Fotosense for £199.00 but not sure if they are reliable. Anyone bought anything from them before?

http://www.fotosense.co.uk/panasonic...amera-red.html

Went to street shop to check on this camera. It is much lighter compared to the TZ7. May just get this one because of the weight and size.

At £170 I'd go for the TZ6, mine cost me £200+
I do use mine to shoot movies and they are VG quality, but I mainly take pictures, the 12X zoom is brilliant.
HD might be worth having but it's not really necessary.

I'm also torn between the TZ7 and ZX1....

Had a look at the ZX1 camera in Dixons - for me I think the size and weight will swing it.
Granted the TZ7 is better spec, but unless it's small and light enough to fit in my jeans pocket, I'm less likely to take it with me when I go out.

TZ6 £171 from Amazon, check the prices here,.

I haven't seen the ZX1 so I can't comment on the size but I don't think I'd want to stick it in my jeans pocket without protecting the shutter blades

I really wanted a TZ 6 or TZ7 , main thing putting me off, besides price was size, but that was pretty much the only option to get more than the standard 3/4 times optical zoom and a high quality camera

But i decided agianst replacing my taped together pentax, due to i would never take it out where i normally do , due to in pocket size.

Then i see the ZX1 in the shops 8x optical zoom ,and thats the camera for me, once it dips below £200 or beginning of december ( whatever comes 1st )

TZ6 103.3 x 59.6 x 32.8 mm 229g
TZ7 103.3 x 59.6 x 32.8 mm 229g
ZX1 97.8 x 54.6 x 26.0 mm 160g

Its not much but that 5mm ish all round makes the difference to me,

tho if someone finds a TZ7 for £150 ill change my mind!

You can buy the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 here for £192 delivered (but with only one year warranty). However, I'm not sure how reliable this company is.
