Car accident, who is liable?

On the way to work today, was at a roundabout, car in front revved engine, went to go, pulled half way across the junction and then stopped because they claim a car was coming. I obviously saw the car pull off, saw the road was clear, went to pull out then bang, went into the back of the car in front.

Not much damage was done, only a few light marks on my bumper, and a plastic pannel fell off the other car.

I'm just interested to know who is liable in case it gets taken further?

Could be wrong but i think it'll be you.
Normally if you go up the back of someone, it's your fault as you're too close :(

I know thats how it normally works, but though as she's actually pulled half a cars length over the junction, surely she is in the wrong...

I've heard of this scam too, see them trying to claim there was 5 people in the car all with wiplash.

Ive been told to take photos to prove how many people were at the scene etc. and prove the damage on the car. they could say its a write off and it'll cost u more
