Afternoon all,
I was wondering whether you could give me a little advice. I'm looking to save some money on my phoneline/internet connection and have had enough of Virgin, so am looking to switch my phoneline to BT and take out a nice cashback offer with o2.
Before I moved into this property it had an active BT connection and I've got letters from BT saying that I can 'come back' to them without paying the ridiculous (122pound) connection fee. I've called BT to confirm this a while ago who said it'd be no problem, but I've just called again and the adviser told me that I'd have to make 10 chargeable calls per month in order to stay connected with this 'offer'? This is the first I've heard about it, they also said that signing up to BT without paying the connection fee will mean I need to enter an 18 month contract that will reset if I move home.
I'm looking to just have the damn phoneline so I can have o2 for a few measly pennies a month after cashback, absolutely no calls will be made from it, therefore I want the most basic option which looks like 11.25month line rental (free weekend calls).
I'd ideally like to sign up online as I can get 16pound cashback via Uswitch aswell.
Does anyone know about the chargeable calls thing and anything else I may have overlooked?
Cheers! Rep awaits those that can help!
