Dumbest post I've read in a while.

You use E-Bay as a reference. Duh!

The statement is correct, but it still doesn't hurt to do a comparison. There's been several instances of 'ooh, I wouldn't mind that', then 'I'll just check on Ebay', followed closely by 'you have won the auction' and 'here is your paypal receipt '...

Oh yeah, about the sensor bar. I've got one of these taped to the bottom of my projector screen, and it works really well. It also means i can retract the screen without the wire hanging down which is why I got it.

But I've lost count of the amount of times I've left it switched on, and had to change the batteries when I get to it next!

And it's also getting a bit silly now, to play the wii I have to;

Switch the projector power on
Switch the projector on and let it warm up
Switch the sound on
Pull the screen down
Switch the sensor bar on
Switch the wii on
Switch the wiimote on
Switch the balance board on

I don't actually need a workout after that lot!

Just get yourself one of those Logitech Harmony remotes with macros that appears here from time to time as a deal. Job done for you with one button press.

How far away from the Wii can you actually put these things as its often been a bugbear of mine the senor bar as the bluetooth controllers work quite a distance away but although the cable is long its still very visible and I already installed what I thought would be the neccessary cable to negate the 'under the TV clutter'

I'd love to think I could put my Wii in the cellar in my A/V rack below the lounge as that's where everything else is...sky box, freeview, etc, etc without having to run the cable for the sensor bar and yes I know before anyone asks I already have composite over Cat5 between the rack and my TV for the picture and I have all my original Wii games backed up onto a USB connected hard disk so no need to change game discs all the time so I really could put my Wii in the cellar

As far away as you like - they don't actually connect to the Wii. They are just infra-red LED lights in a box. The "wired" one is just getting power to it, there's no connectivity back - you can acheive much the same result with two tea-light candles as with the wii sensor bar.

The Wii remote sees the lights from the bar, and senses where it is, transmitting the information back over the bluetooth connection. Thats all they do.
