i work in Matalan and theres no sale at the moment i can assure you as its one of my duties to get all the sale items in the correct area
next sale is xmas eve ( 50% - 75% off )
maybe online but definately not instore unless its old sale stuff that hasnt been removed from sale which if is the case they are slackers as it should of been uplifted 2 weeks ago

the last sale deal i posted myself
the next one is Xmas eve instore ( although its not advertised til starting boxing day )
thing to check if the labels if they are highlighted then there are in the sale
will post nearer the date when its confimred by head office
