Anyone ever ordered anything from pricelover.com?

POSTED BY: MrRobin 3 weeks, 2 days ago

Been searching for the cheapest prices for some computer hardware and https://www.pricelover.com is coming up trumps but I've never heard of them and I don't want to got screwed over...

Has anyone had any experience ordering from them?

Well if you look under "whois" for the site it is registered to Paul Cusack.

http://whois.domaintools.com/pricelover.com

And a search on Paul Cusack shows he was the person who started ebuyer.

And this site here mentions Paul Cusack and pricelover.com

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/10344249...-Pricelovercom

And the fact it is a https site menas it is a proper secure site (and not a cheap copy).

It certainly does not seem an obvious "scam" like some sites

However whether you chose to use it is up to you.

Most people have probably forgotten how abysmal ebuyer's customer service was when Paul Cusack ran it! Used parts sold as new - 2 hour waits on the phone - refunds took months. I think you buy from pricelover at your peril.

I had a quick look at the site and isn't it illegal to advertise prices net of VAT? Once you've added the VAT, they don't look particularly cheap.

Other sites do it, like Staples.

I notice pricelover.com has a add / subtract VAT button on the top right.

Thanks for all your replies. In the about us section there are references to ebuyer etc so thought it was probably some ex-employees.

Yes the ex-VAT prices are displayed as default, this is not illegal, so long as it says ex-VAT -- look at CostCo all their stuff is displayed ex-VAT as they're more geared up selling to businesses.

After postage the item is only about £7 less than at ebuyer, maybe I'll just stick with them then.

Cheers!
