Seems like a bargain price to me.... £65 for a folding bike is good.

It is worth reading the reviews first. Some are very good and the bike may be just what you require. However, this comment was the one that I expected to see "I wish I spent more and got something lighter, more foldable and better quality."

You'd have to spend a damn sight more than £65 to get a lighter or better quality bike!
Hot.

I've had a Dahon for about 3 years now and it hasn't failed me once, my husband got a cheaper Raleigh one for about £100 and got rid of it after a week.

If you're gonna use it on a regular basis (i use mine daily for work) then it might be worth investing in something more substantial, however I must say that this is a good price although if it's not a good experience don't let it put you off, my husband eventually bought a Dahon and is very happy now!

Hot at this price, especially for the tinkerer.

However one of the more interesting reviews shows it limitations;
:
"This bike is not suitable for city commuting. It's heavy, has no locking mechanism when folded, the brakes are not robust or strong enough to stop at speed and the gears for me do not shift below 4. 4 was so low, it may as well be a 3 speed bike anyway. Who puts offroad tyres on a 'city' bike? I have returned this item."

Agreed. Large number of reviews so it's easy to read between the lines: If you're expecting something of top notch design you'll be disappointed and if you don't know a spanner from an allen key you'll have trouble with assembly, but if all you want is a bike for a bit of local or leisure riding which you can fold to take in the car it's probably a great little tool. It even has Shimano gears whereas most cheap folders are single speed only. Shame you can't try it for size before buying though.

Absolutely fantastic value at this price. If you bought the rack, stand and mudguards alone as accessories they'd cost this much or more at Halfords or a proper bike shop.

I'm tempted but I've run out of shed space. Bikes and bargains are an addictive combination!

Hot provided your expectations are realistic.

Here are a couple of links to Halfords folders for comparison:

Single speed, 'reduced to' £120:

6 speed (aluminium), 'reduced to' £200:

I'd say the reviews are worse than the Argos one too.

Halfords' claimed original prices are a real laugh!

One of the problems my husband had with the cheaper ones was the position of the peddles in relation to the seat, they were a little too far back which made it uncomfortable to ride.

Just to say not trying to put you off, I LURVE my folder, just thought you might want to know what to look out for!

That's useful comment, not the usual 'cheap bikes are rubbish' rant. Thank you.

Yes, this one does look rather short in the frame doesn't it.

Still an awful lot of kit for 65 quid though..........no, I REALLY don't need it, but.............

I'm definately a proponent of the 'cheap bikes are rubbish' rhetoric but if you are going to buy a £65 bike this kind of thing is probably far more usable than those dual suspension pogo sticks that often get posted on here.

this is junk, absolute junk. Plastic brake levers, gears that don't work, chains that come off, if you actually *need* a folding bike, than this is an absolute nightmare.

Garbage.
