Stereophonics have a most impressive track record - five of their six albums have gone to No 1 - but back with a new release they refuse to rest on their laurels.

Written by singer Kelly Jones, Keep Calm & Carry On takes the band in a new direction, stripping back the guitars to leave Joness vocals wide open.

We needed to up the bar a bit, the singer explains.

Otherwise it was going to fritter away like it has done for a lot of the bands that were around at the same time as us. And I think were better than that.

Produced by Jim Abbiss, the man behind Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, Thats What Im Not, the album is released on November 16.
