LCD TV Repair Help?

POSTED BY: meshosa 4 months, 6 days ago

Hi, I bought a Sharp LCD 26" from boot sale, was stuck on standby. Managed to find a spare power board on ebay for £21. Replaced it and TV is working on and off now BUT showing white screen and random coloured columns as I turn it on and off. I did replace the main board as well but got the same results. Any tips or hints are welcome.

If TV is showing random coloured bars, sounds like it could be a problem I have had with mine recently, however unplugging and replugging back in the cables seems to have cleared that problem up....coloured vertical lines, dotted specs, white screen etc etc can usually be caused by either a faulty LVDS cable or even the LVDS control board in the LCD itself.

However I am not a qualified TV engineer, and you are having other problems besides that, its obviously not the LCD panel itself, and if its anything like my TV then all you have is the AV/Scaling Panel, LVDS control board, display power board, main power board, Inverter board and the IR panel.

Seems like with the amount of problems you are having the TV may have experienced a bad spike in electricity that has taken out or causing intermittent problems with more than one board. Cut your losses maybe?
