Worthwhile mentioning that this is on talk mobile, and you get 50 mins and 50 texts.

Why would anyone do this?

If you get an Asda Simcard, you'll be paying £6 if you use 50 mins and 50 texts. Granted you get a mobile, but is it worth signing up for a 24 months contract.

Also, you'll probably be paying 3x the amount of the Asda sim, if you would go over your monthly allowance

the effective monthly cost is almost half what you quoted and you get a free phone. Not sure about comparing call costs off those include. anyway It suits my usage patterns so is a deal

Yeah, but if you get quidco on this, the price over 2 years is £78. If you subtract the cost of the handset @ ~£30 then it's £48 for two years, which is £2 a month for 50 mins and 50 texts. Seems alot more reasonable than the £6 Asda deal.

This seems pretty reasonable to me. And at £5 per month, it's not going to break the bank if you change your mind further down the line.

Quote OP/E2Save "this is the latest and best Walkman® branded mobile phone out."

Who are you kidding? This is certainly not the latest Walkman branded mobile phone out... take the W995 for example.

It is one of the most fragile though. If you have a habit of dropping your phone this is not the one to get. The front flap is prone to breaking and it's not easy/cheap to get a replacement. I tried replacing the whole fascia but the quality of the replacements on Ebay is not great.

LOL
It probably was back in 2002

I had one of these and the flap broke after 2 days - very fragile

If anyone is thinking of getting one of these then read the reviews first

How can this even be a deal. 24 months 2 years! with this phone! Not only did this model come out about 3-4 years ago but it is so fragile I doubt if it will even last six months. There's literally hundreds of them floating around on fleabay with broken flaps. I think the £5 tag per month is just a smart way of shifting excess stock. Certainly not worth a two year contract IMHO

Poor deal. Most will go over monthly allowance and the phone will not last 2 years.

I disagree. My wife makes few mobile calls, and has had this particular phone 12 months and it still works perfectly. Its a great little phone, plus add a memory card and its pretty good mp3 player too.

Good deal for light users, though I think I'd choose a different phone though.

Reminds me a bit of deal I posted last week , except with this you pay half the price and get half as many minutes, half the Quidco and a phone worth half the cost of the one in my deal.

How did this get hot? Surely a light user might as well get PAYG sim?
