Holy cow!!

i paid £12 from costco for that kettle about a month ago. Only bought it cos i thought it was a cheapy kettle!!

Excellent piece of kit - boil it for the babys bottle at night .. and 7 hours later the water is still tepid!

We have one of these. Decent enough kettle. But original price of £59.99????? Pull the other one.

Anyone who would buy a kettle for £60 is a halfwit with too much money.

A kettle boils water. Like all the cheap ones do.

And don't say that this will do it faster. Cos there are plenty of cheap rapid boils as well.

And as for a kettle that boils water and is still tepid after 7hrs, surely that would apply to every single kettle as they all cut out at 100C (I assume), so the water from any kettle should be tepid after 7hrs? Only way this kettle could have water wamer after 7hrs than any other kettle would be the fact that it must take its temp to 120C or 150C before it cuts out.

Of course it is insulated, the extent to which I don't know, I don't own the kettle. My point was that there are two things involved in heat loss, temperature driving force and heat transfer coefficient.

I have the exact same kettle, in a stainless steel finish.... and that's the problem - it has a film of material over a plastic body (in this case black film, in mine, it is shiny metallic material)

Apart from a very poor lid which jams often, it was fine at first, although the film damages very easily but even if not damaged, after a few months of use the film starts to lift off the plastic underneath (& looks awful!), then soon after that starts to crack off

Not very durable at all

Had my (black) one a year...still looks in mint condition and no problems with it whatsoever.
