Free 1 years subscription to Kaspersky 2010 @ Barclays

FOUND BY: waxsta 2 weeks, 2 days ago

Hey guys,

NOTE: Firstly before anyone complains about this being a re-post, this post is to inform people that they can use their barclays keys on Kaspersky 2010. Barclays DO NOT state that the serial key they provide for online account holders is limited to any speicifc version of Kaspersky however they do show a picture of Kaspersky 2009 and the procedure of aquiring a key takes the user to a link where they can download the 2009 version. This is a good trick as people won't relaise that the license they are entitled to can be used on the latest version of Kaspersky. Please read on for more details:

Also note: This deal is for Barclays Online account holders only.

I recently installed Windows 7 and found that my Kaspersky 2009 internet security stopped working due to compatability problems with the new OS. So I downloaded a trial version of the 2010 edition and entered my Barclays online key and it worked!

Click on the link to login and get your free license key which can be used on upto 3 pcs!

Once you have the license key, download the Kaspersky 2010 trial instead of the 2009 one that is on the Barclays Site. (Direct link to 2010 below):

http://downloads.kaspersky-labs.com/trial/registered/3NKDGRXIM7FJ5ZTSIAFW/kis9.0.0.736en.exe

Enter the key after installing and you will have a years FREE internet security!

Yes most people can get cheap or free AV software it's not hard. Llloyds are doing something similar and you get McAfee (not advertised so easily). Or you can just get an OEM disc for £3.

I hate Kasperksky it's far too intrusive, gone back to Bulldog for this year.

That is correct. Kaskpersky 2009 is NOT compatible with Windows 7. Check link below:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...re&s=kaspersky

Everytime I tried to update the 'obsolete database' in Kaspersky 2009 I got message telling me to reboot. Once I had rebooted it gave me the same error. All the time saying that protection is 'disabled' and I got numerous compatibility errors from the windows 7 adviser tool.

Kaspersky is by far the best internet security, doesn't slow down Pc and user friendly, been using it for years.
A friend of mine opened up a savings account with Barclays online and has registered for online Banking and he is able to get this free offer and he hasn't even put a penny in yet!

Yes, Kaspersky is good if it works and you have no other security software installed on your computer. There are compatibility problems though, not only with Windows 7. Try it free for 30 days (directly from Kaspersky) and see if it works for you, it doesn't work for me.

Why would you be using other security software when Kapersky Internet Security does it all. Never double up on AV/Firewall etc. even if you don't get erorrs they will get in each others way and lower your overall security and system stability.

This is true, it won't allow another anti virus software, but, why have two systems loading your system down, taking up your resources when one such as Kaspersky will take of all your security issues.

I haven't had any security software installed for years, every now and then I do a scan with malwarebytes and guess what? Nothing, no viruses, not ever. Viruses are for stupid people who surf sites they shouldn't and open files they shouldn't. Anti-virus software is for the paranoid and naive.

Cold for being a waste of cpu cycles.

I use other security software because NO security suite covers all my needs. This is not the same as doubling up (I am quite aware of what I need and what is missing from Kaspersky). One security suite can never cover all your security, no matter what they say in their marketing. This is why you need to try software before you buy, that's all I said.

Go to any tech forum and you will learn that you don't need to pay for security if you use the right combination of free stuff and it will work better than this all in one as no one package can do it all.

I agree with this statement, however most people find it too difficult to set up individual security and hence the popularity of suites. However, additional software is needed for most suites, such as Ad-aware and Spybot. As long as everything is compatible, they will work well together.

I also recomend spyware blaster as it puts a huge list of dodgy site in the restricted zone on your browser settings and locks your homepage and protects you from BHO's

superantispyware is also very good.

Both FREE
