Decent price for a 500gb portable drive (that's all I paid for my 2) and the film should be simple enough to delete

i would say that because it is portable and has no power cable in the description that is powered by the usb port

My guess is that since its 2.5" it will run off USB power but may need 2 USB ports on some older PC's

I just had a hard drive failaftet 6 months. I am a bit wary now of such items going through a postal service which may get thrown about. Probably worrying about nothing, but I will only buy in store now

Most manufacturers expect this now, so HDs come with heads "parked". You'd need some level of shock to dislodge and break them!
