Localphone.com is probably the cheapest. You put some credit on the account and make calls to India landline and mobile for 1.3p. Some parts of India are 1.6p. The maximum is 1.6p. You also get a local 0203 number for each contact so you can dial from your mobile or landline if you have free minutes and the call goes straight to the number in India, no more long numbers to dial. They also give you the facility to use VOIP hardware or software. USA is 0.7p, other countries are also very cheap to call. I have been using this for nearly a year now. Forget all the calling cards and all that. Good luck.

that website says virtually nothing about their service, prices etc.

Seems like you have to pay to top-up with minutes, by calling premium rate no's etc, so hardly free.

or 18185 for 4p per minute India landlines and mobiles, 0.5p per min USA landlines and mobiles, without any commitment, pay for what you use. And they're probably not the cheapest carrier.
