Tesco Clubcard Vouchers

POSTED BY: strudle 3 weeks, 1 hour ago

I've done something stupid! I've converted my clubcard vouchers into Goldsmith vouchers. However, I also bought some clubcard vouchers from someone not realising exactly how it worked (paid double the price of them). I tried to convert them both at the same time but obviously they are in different names so now I presume I have thrown away £70 as I won't be able to use the ones I bought?

I can use mine but wondering what would happen to the £70 I paid the other person? Wil the ones with their name on get posted to them, or to me?

Nah, the reason why they sell for around double the value is because people use them on the quadruple value deals.

I don't think you can use them in the same transaction as the other vouchers, as they're under a different name but it should be ok with a separate purchase.

I thought when you buy these from other people, you get them to convert them to what you want and they send you the converted tickets.

So if someone was selling £10:00 worth of vouchers, you tend to buy them for £20:00 and ask them to convert them to what you want, say, for example, Adventure Island tickets. They would then send you the £40:00 worth of Adventure Island tickets.

So they have made £10:00 cash on the deal 'cos they sold £10:00 worth of tickets for £20:00.
You have saved £20:00 'cos you have got £40:00 worth of tickets for £20:00.

That's how it is supposed to work.
Both parties are winners.

I would speak to the seller about getting them to convert them for you.

Trouble is, I've already tried to convert them myself - in the same transaction as mine so she doesn't have them anymore, because I have them and have used them. I'm not sure if they will send them in my name and in hers, or just send me mine and her the ones in her name?

Last time I converted some vouchers into Deals Tokens I'm sure I remember seeing somewhere on one of the screens that they only post the tokens to the address where the Clubcard is registered. So they will probably send the tokens to the person you bought them off (and they'll more than likely ask for more p&p before forwarding them to you?!?).

Ugh. Well fortunately I collected them from her house so I know where she lives and where she works (Tesco!). I just hope that she gives me back the ones in her name!

How did you come to buy them? Through e-bay or similar, or did you know her anyway.

If she works for Tesco I would have thought she would know what the deal was.
