Microsoft Lifecam Cinema USB HD 720p Webcam £41.25 delivered @ Kikatek

£41.25

44°

FOUND BY: G0OSE 4 months, 1 week ago

As far as I can see this is Microsoft's flagship webcam, I couldn't find it any cheaper than this anywhere (delivered).
Seems a good price for such a great spec webcam.
Make your own minds up tho!

Widescreen technology is everywhere these days, built into virtually every new notebook, desktop monitor and flat-panel TV, and today Microsoft Hardware sets a new standard for webcams with the launch of LifeCam Cinema, the first consumer webcam on the PC to offer widescreen video with a native 720p sensor. The timing couldn't be better, with more and more people going online to share videos with friends and family; in fact, more than 10 million videos are uploaded each month to Facebook alone. LifeCam Cinema webcam's 720p widescreen sensor will deliver clear, quality videos - without leaving anyone out of the shot.

Needs a dual core to work, but doesn't work with 64-bit OS, by the look of things!

They use Paypal and Google Checkout, so should be OK.

They are just another dropshipping website that uses the same central stock held at a 3rd party supplier as Kikatek, Ballicom, Techstore, ILGS, CCL etc do, so should be no problem really.

They all sell the same stock, their prices just vary a bit depending in their chosen markup.

I don't really understand what they are saying here-
'Windows® 7, Windows Vista®, Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) or higher (Excluding Windows XP 64-bit)'
Do you think this means it will work on Xp 64-bit or it wont ? Could read that it works with Xp 64-bit without service pack 2?

I read that as specifying that it won't work on XP 64 bit - but since it doesn't mention Vista or Windowds 7 64bit they should be fine

Yeah is what I thought, strange thought that it being 64 Bit would make a webcam not work?

There are lots of things that don't have 64-bit drivers. Even if they are badged as being Microsoft products!!

Remember that Windows XP 64-bit isn't really XP at all - it is actually Windows Server 2003 64-bit with an XP style desktop on top.

Thanks guys for all the info, am just waiting to see if someone can find it cheaper - I know there's one for just under 77p less, but I already have a kikatek account so for the sake of saving 77p I may as well get it from them - was hoping someone would find it a fiver cheaper somewhere!
Hopefully they may still....
