Simple (but not too basic) 15.4" laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium and Wi-Fi
Would be great for school or office or maybe as a larger screen alternative to a netbook. Should be easily upgradeable later if required (unlike netbooks).

It's not a great deal - that CPU is a bit ropey and a W7 system should have 2GB really.

Laptops are no more upgradeable than Netbooks really either - you can't upgrade much other than the RAM in most cases.

It's not a bad deal if you really must have a W7 laptop for £300 - a memory upgrade wouldn't be too expensive - but it's not a stellar deal/is a bit low-spec really.

This is one of those slightly daft comments when you're talking <£350 machines - if the target audience is school/college/web based then the CPU really hardly matters them (in fact the CPU in a laptop hardly matters to most people).

All a more powerful one does is use more battery - which is thus heavier etc. - it's not like a laptop under £800 would play games or anything like that so - maybe ripping DVDs would be painful but otherwise...
