Does anyone us a Plasma for their PS3?

POSTED BY: stevey_p7 2 weeks, 6 days ago

I'm still undecided on what TV t get and its really bugging me. I keep searching then finding other TV's that could be possibilities.

Looking at the LG 42PQ6000 but reading reviews on Plasma's they are all on about this motion blur and burn-in?

I could fork out more and get the Toshiba Regza 42XV635DB as it is an LCD and its 1080p.

Or I could go back to my original plan of buying the 37LH3000 from Currys for £399. I'm really tempted to start looking at the 42" TV's now though.

I use a Plasma for my 360 and that is fine no screen burn, image retention or motion blur. But with the LG they do have a problem with image retention unlike a Panasonic which don't suffer from this. My advice will be to get a Panasonic TX-P42X10 or the 37 inch version.

I think if your really bothered about which one is better, you should buy an LCD tv with a built in game mode feature.
Which can be found in most decent Samsung and Sony tv sets.

What else are you putting through it? Freeview, Sky?

I would go for a Panasonic plasma over pretty much anything, Pioneer Plasma being pretty much the only exception

I'd only be using it for my PS3 games and blu rays. I am really unsure which one would give me the better picture as the 1080p on the LG is very good.

Although there is 100hz and great black levels on the Panasonic. (Panasonic TXP37X10B)

Any feedback would be appreciated, cheers.

I've seen image retention on my plasma (Panasonic PX70) but no screen burn - as long as your settings are ok, it's pretty much a thing of the past now.

That Panasonic is the model i have.

xbox 360 looks great on it, don't have a PS3 so can't really say.

Also a 720p WMV rip of a film i watched last night was absolutely superb

I'd go to a store and test a few sets to see which you prefer as your going to get many different opinions.

If you test the sets your interested in and get them to let you try them with a PS3 hooked up and perhaps dvd/blu ray etc. I'm sure you'll find something that matches your taste then.
