Toshiba NB200-10G Netbook - reduced AGAIN @ Comet

£249.99

75°

FOUND BY: DavidL 2 weeks, 1 day ago

STARTS: 06/11/2009

I've posted this before at £269.99 and - to be honest - you didn't like it that much. Today there is a further £20 off at Comet. Check Google shopping - the Comet deal is amazingly good. Find a better price and I'll eat my socks.

This netbook has got easily the bestest keyboard for touch typing - way way better than the Samsungs (even the 140 with its little extra bit on the edge) and its got a long-life battery - nine hours per charge.. If you need to write your bestseller on the bus - this is the one for you! (No, I don't work for Comet and I'm not on commission....!_

lovely netbook, and i totally agree with you that its better than the samsung netbooks (which have awful mousepads)

however paying anythin over £200 for a netbook, any netbook in my personal opinion is really silly. the screens are eye straining, squinting a major issue, not to mention having to regularly scroll down a web page 3-4 times to just to read a news article!

the nb200 is one the one netbook il buy, but il wait it out till its south of £180 before i even bother considering

really tempted by this, my only concern is from the Comet images this one looks like it has a different keyboard to other nb200-10G's. I have seen others that have the silver keyboard with the spaced out (separated I guess) keys, can anyone confirm which this has?

Also the site only mentions 4.5 hours battery life, again can someone confirm this has the 9 hour battery?

I have an Acer Aspire One 8.9 at the moment, I would happily upgrade for the bigger screen and better battery life, anybody know the screen resolution on this (hopefully better than the Acer!).

Thanks.

I tend to agree that £200 is about right for a netbook, but I was seriously thinking about one of these when the £50 rebate offer was on. If that could be applied to this, it would be a blinding deal!

In the end, I spent somewhat more for a bigger screen, ION graphics and 6 hr battery life on the Compaq 311c posted on here. For £30 over the price of this, I think it's a good deal.

There ARE different keyboards to different NB200 models. The 10G (featured) has a conventional keyboard. Others in the range have 'pebble' style keyboards with individual keys sticking up. Both are quite good to use in my view. I had a brief flirtation with the pebble keyboards but decided I liked the 10G keyboard better in the end.

The toshiba website - really annoyingly - doesn't even mention the different keyboards - so you might have to find a seller with really big images to try and work out which is which. Sorry I can't help more than this.

True enough. I think comet have got this wrong. The toshiba website quotes up to 9 hours and this is supported by independent reviews.

.. if you check out :

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.c...eries/1066150/

.. you'll see that the NB200-10G has a quoted battery life of under 4 hours, with some in the NB200 series having batteries that are rated 9+ hours. My guess is that the 10G uses a 3 cell battery rather than the more expensive 6 cell, hence the price .. ?

If you believe what you read here (amazon description plus reviews) then this is definately a 3-cell
