The opening of the Birmingham mega-store had such good offers people were taking TVs out of other shoppers trolleys!
So have an armed guard standing by your purchase at all times

Can imagine the queues so I won't bother. Good deal for those willing to get there at something silly like 5am and wait it out.

I'll bet the problem there is people sticking them in the trolley then walking off leaving the trolley with the TV in. Seen similar happen at loads of sales, people look at the unattended trolley/basket and assume its either been left there or the stock has been put there waiting to go onto the shelf. Only an idiot leaves such things unattended!

It was carnage at the wednesbury opening 12 months ago, The chaos was that bad that the police had to close the exit slip off the nearby motorway because of the trouble. That said i did get a 42" toshiba for £279

the opening of Wednesbury store 12 months ago was great...although i did not bother in the first two days because of the queues..i went on the third day and there were still some good offers...I bought 3 Canon D450 SLR cameras for £330 each (the ongoing price till now is around £480)..claimed £50 cashback on each of them from canon so each cost £280 and then sold two on ebay for around £400 each...i was kicking myself for not buying more as there were at least 20 on the shelf and people were not bothered as they were all after TVs

jeeez, face looooong traffic queues in the hope of getting one of a small no of bargain deals. Would love the deals, just not the hassle

Sounds like we need to sponsor someone to sit out all night to get a lorry load of stuff - oh wait, some will be doing that anyway ;(

The store is already open (I went in last weekend) but I assume the 'grand' opening is still to come

Wednesbury - me and my sister queued up from 10pm - 7am and the police were called out because the security was rubbish and people were pushing in the queue,

Still got 2 TV's, 2 PS3's and a £15 snooper satnav. Sold one of the TV's and PS3's to mates (still at less than RRP) and sold my old 32in Samsung so got my current 46in 1080p for free It was about £500 in the sale I think. And using the satnav everyday.

Never again though. We criticise people pushing in the queue in 3rd world countries when trying to get food handouts. These were adults doing worse just for cheap tv's!

PS, was same satnav and it broke. Went back to Currys who were unable to replace (just give me my £15 back) but I contacted Strabo who sorted it for free.
