badly done acrylic nails....should i complain? and does anyone do their own?

POSTED BY: donnaraine 2 weeks, 5 days ago

had an acrylic overlay over my own nails on wednesday. 3 have already fell off with a 4th on the way. the artwork she did was appauling as the lines were wonky and just looked a general mess. im not normally someone who complains so should i just cut my losses (cost £23) or try and get her to replace them? i cant get into town until friday and by then they will more than likely have all come off.

ive also found the stuff to do acrylic nails on ebay. is it worth buying and attempting to do my own instead of forking out a small fortune on getting them done properly? ive spent £70 in 6 weeks on my nails and after these last ones i dont want to spend that much again

i had to take my last ones off which lasted nearly 6 weeks as they had started looking shabby, she didnt do them but she did the infills and the artwork which i was really impressed with. if i complain and she replaces them im still gonna lose them off after a couple days, which is why im thinking i should just cut my losses and go somewhere else if i get them back on

If you're convinced her work is inferior ( sure sounds like it ) cut your losses and go elsewhere.

Not sure whether the ones on ebay are any good..... I've always thought they might be a bit like those ones we played with as kids and fall off into someones dinner or their eyeball or summin.... lol

haha they dont cost a fortune though so doesnt matter if they dont last.

she has just phoned me! my mam went in and complained without me knowing (which i am fuming about) shes offered to replace them but to be honest i dont think i want her to, they will only fall off again. i just said if i had time when i was down friday i would pop in

hun go back and complain, tell her you want a full refund, and go to another salon, they might be able to save some of the ones the bad salon did or just remove the lot.

Acrylic's ruin your natural nails hun, try and use sally henson, used her products for a few years now and always have nice long nails.

im not gonna go, just didnt want to say that as shes a nice lass. i think the problem is she doesnt file the nail surface enough for the acrylic to stick. other place i had them done used electric files which have left my natural nails looking awful but by god they stuck lol. was on 3 hours getting them off with acetone and had to pull them off in the end cos they werent budging

my nails are very bendy and snap and flake easily, plus nail varnish stays on acrylics until you remove it

I used to have acrylics done never again. I did start using an avon product that wrapped them in diamond dust ( same thing as the wrap)

now i swear by sally hensen
