Can you blow stuff up and mod the planes with laser canons? Can you setup multiplayer extreme frag servers where you fly around in F14s calling yourself Iceman or Maverick and blow each other up over and over while trying to protect ground base from being bombed by alien spaceships? If yes then I'm all for it, however if it involves taking off from Bristol airport flying to Dusseldorf for 2hrs and then landing again, then no. I dont get these games and never will, I believe there was a MS Train Simulator? I mean, why?

Still, besides my inability to understand the appeal of these games voted hot because I know peeps dig these games and I know its usual £30 odd.

Believe it or not people like to fly planes. Its not just as straight forward as taking off from bristol and flying to wherever, it takes a great deal of skill, technical knowledge etc to fly a commercial jet liner. IMO much more challenging than bashing a few buttons trying to shoot a load of stuff up. Add in some extreme weather, and a few random failures and away you go!!! And yes using autopilot all the time is cheating.

lol pukenukem, it costs a lot of money to learn to fly this is a cheap way to get ahead of the game and make learning to fly cheaper.

Also there is air traffic control in the latest version so much more immersion. Indeed it's a select market but I've been into realistic flight simulators for 13yrs since I was 13. Took a glider lesson the other day and he said well your experience in flight simulators clearly shows as I made my level flight turns. I knew exactly what he was talking about with regards to the dials wasn't anything new. Only thing new was when he pushed down on the stick and I left my belly behind.

people enjoy aviation, fsx is very realistic, you can even use it to an extent as an educational tool. Its a challenge to learn to fly the planes and deal with weather and aircraft systems etc.

i dont get football or football games either; to me its a bunch of aggressive but very fragile, injury prone boys with nice haircuts kicking about a pigs bladder for obscene amounts of money... but i can see why other people enjoy it. We all see things differently, to each their own...

true dont see the appeal myself, but even the best pilots continuously train/learn in simulators

Bit of green eyed monster there I think. Both fields have their difficulties, but remember Commercial Pilots make it look easy, a bit like computer experts who make it look easy!

Cheers

Good price but make sure you have plenty of HD space; think it needs about 18GB total for these!
