Morrissey Hit by Bottle at Liverpool Concert

Just been to see Morrissey at the Liverpool Echo Arena (first time I have been to see him).

Came on at 9pm, sang Charming Man, got half way through Black Cloud and was hit on the head by a full bottle of beer. He was bending down at the time shaking hands with people, he stood up, said goodbye and walked off.

Left the lights off for a while, steward went on stage and was shining a light into the standing area being directed to who it was so the stewards on the floor could get him. Hope they did, but they didnt say. Hope the other fans got him first! Think they were hoping he would come back on, left it about 15-20minutes and then someone come on stage and said he had been hit by a bottle of beer and would not be coming back on and the lights were put on

Dont think there was one person in the arena who blamed him for not returning. I certainly dont! I wouldn't of blamed him if it hadnt hit him and he didnt return, but it hit the side of his forehead and wasnt thrown from far so was full force. Was only 2 weeks ago the man collapsed on stage!!!!

Before anyone says it, it was not necessarily someone from Liverpool (my brother came from essex to see him!) but I am ashamed that it had to be Liverpool where it happened.

Is he offering all the decent genuine fans refunds on their tickets? I would be asking for one.....I was only thinking the other day (at a pink concert) that it would only take one idiot to ruin crowd/performer interaction for everyone.

Dunno, only happened an hour ago. Dont think its up to him to refund though, is Echo Arenas fault for selling glass bottles and alcohol. They gave some drinks out in plastic cups, so why not all? I will be chasing them for a refund and also asking them to refund my brothers train tickets (from essex).

Also, I bought a plastic bottle of tango in there and they took the lid off for health and safety reasons! Said I couldnt have the lids, ended up spilling some of it! Surely it is more dangerous to give someone a glass bottle than it is a plastic bottle lid!

I've been to the Echo arena three times, and each time the amount of p**s heads causing problems was beyond belief. Admittedly it's never affected the performers but i've been burnt by a fag, been covered in booze and the gigs I have been to are not for groups you would think would attract these idiots.

Why do these people pay good money for the tickets and then do things like throw bottles & also get totally wasted so they can't even stand up.

I'm afraid it doesn't put the people of Liverpool in a good light.

they don't sell glass bottles of beer they are plastic, just look like glass bottles

got to admit i had seats for the gig on thursday in there and the amount of fighting you could see in the standing area was unbelivable, whle groups laying in to each other, glad i wasn't in there

I dont understand why someone would spend so much to go and see him, obviously got there really early because they were maximum about 4 rows back in standing area, just to go and do that!

I agree it doesnt put Liverpool in a good light, but it wasnt necessarily someone from Liverpool.
