Car suggestions

POSTED BY: willdev 1 week, 6 days ago

Guys and gals,
Need some suggestions just about to start driving (17 next month), I've narrowed my choice down to 3 cars Yaris, Polo or Corsa. Yaris, alot more expensive than corsa, yet so much more reliable? Is this true or not? Polo, Not many around in my price bracket (£2000 (£300 tolerance)), however again it has a good name? Corsa, Cheap, lots around so parts should be easy to get and cheap, however im worried loads of chavs drive them? Also thinking about a seat Ibiza however again not many around and my dad says their unreliable!

So which one? Really can't choose!

Im 6ft 4, so leg room is a definitive factor. Also not loaded so don't want to choose a car which is high on the insurance (although I think nearly all are!).

Cars ive got my eye on so far:

Should be getting one next weekend :)

Thanks :D

Hiya.

My sister in Law just passed yesterday and has £2000 to spend also.

We are going for a VW Polo. She likes the Renault Clio too but we were advised not to go for a French car.

We were surprised how much more expensive the Yaris is - my sister in Law did the automatic test though so this may be why.

Corsas are very small, I don't know if the Polo would be any more spacious, though.

Hope this helps

I thought the corsa would be the most expensive as all the boy racers have them . I think the ka will be too small, plus I don't like the way they look . I think I'm just going to have to sit in both the yaris and the corsa and see which one I like the most .

Thanks for the suggestions

Don't worry too much about reliability, for one it will not be a considerable difference between all of those cars and secondly, it's not like you will miss an important meeting or find it impossible to have repaired because you need the car for work etc. Cars need items replacing.

i got a Black Corsa sxi blacked out windows, alloys etc. for £2200 (was originally £2600)

but there has been problems with it, so much so that MOT was £300

insurance first year was with Elephant 10 months, £1300 which included a years no claims

currently 2nd year, churchill £850 with multi car.

I just see it as a car that gets you from a to b not bothered about the rest.

good luck

Just got this for my first car:
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/8396/carke.jpg

Specs:
* 2001
* SXi
* 51,000 miles
* Manual
* 1.2L
* Petrol

Listed price was £2695 got it down to £2500 , I still think it was a little bit over priced, but it came with 1 year mot, tax and a full service and full service history (serviced every 5,000 miles).

Cheers for the help
