Hi
Thanks for posting. And welcome to HUKD.
It is good practice to also add the merchant and price to the title and an image. It helps people who are just browsing through. And in my experience your post will get a few more “hot” votes.
Emmajk42 / Juliet_Bravo wrote a couple of very comprehensive and excellent guides for newcomers to HUKD here: - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/14590...tukdeals-gene/

This is a link, made by rayman, which explains how to add images in great detail. It’s worth taking a look at if you are going to post more deals in future : - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/33994...mages-for-thr/
Again, thanks for posting, and welcome to HUKD.
Kind regards Andy

PS I presume it is instore only as it is £159.99 online

Discontinued model, thats why they are selling them at that price, hot price though for sure, would be hard pushed to find a profile 2 Blu Ray player for less of any branded quality, and the 350 got really good reviews.

Heat added, although I am sure the cold votes will come in from those few that were fortunate enough to get them for £50 on clearance from Currys, but that was then...and limited.

Just found this review on What HiFi

For
Detailed, clear Blu-ray picture; solid DVD upscaling; bold, solid sound
Against
No onboard decoding of DTS HD Master Audio
Sony’s entry-level Blu-ray player is an impressively lean, mean machine. Measuring just 22cm deep, Sony has crammed all the electronics into a small chassis that has been embossed and strengthened in key areas to reduce the effects of unwanted vibrations.

The BDP-S350 also uses a new, virtually silent fan, and even the solder has been changed in an attempt to improve performance.

Out of the box, the Sony is only Profile 1.1 enabled, so you’ll have to carry out a firmware update over the internet using the player’s Ethernet port.

Alternatively, you can let it automatically search for updates. The Sony player’s connectivity also includes an HDMI output, coaxial digital output and USB input.

Exquisite sonic performance
This machine will output 1080p/24fps for Blu-ray and, of course, upscale DVD to 1080p too. For sound, it can output HD audio in bitstream form, or if you want to do the decoding in the player, it can convert everything to LPCM apart from DTS-HD Master Audio.

The BDP-S350 doesn’t have any multichannel analogue outputs. It’s audio quality where this Sony player really leads the way.

The explosions and gunfire on show in Bruce Willis’s Die Hard 4.0 sound bold, solid and weighty, while dialogue is natural and full-bodied without any trace of leanness or brightness.

See all Sony Blu-ray player reviews

The BDP-S350 isn’t even fazed when it comes to CD playback. Considering you’re listening to a Blu-ray player, it sounds rhythmic, composed and detailed with a wide range of music.

This Sony machine also dishes out a fine Blu-ray image. Spin Kevin Spacey’s 21 and the ’S350 really brings home the glitz and glamour of the Vegas nightlife and casinos.

The picture is polished, showing great attention to detail, and excellent sharpness and realism is also apparent. There’s a real clarity to the image that similarly priced players can’t muster.

When it comes to DVD playback, the ’S350 does the crisp transfer of Forgetting Sarah Marshall justice, displaying a welcome absence of on-screen noise.

Granted, the Sony might not tick every feature box, but if you’re in the market for an entry-level Blu-ray deck, the BDP-S350 is nigh-on perfect, and if you hit the online stores you should be able to pick one up for well under £200, making this player an absolute bargain.

Had mine for over a year now and it's great. Can't fault it really. As blu-ray players go it's also really fast, just a few seconds to load a disc. Earlier players took up to a minute, sometimes longer.

There's no on-board dts-hd master audio decoding, but it does handle it via an undecoded bitstream out, so if your amp supports it then it's fine. Personally I send everything out as bitstream and let the amp do the decoding, what, since that's what the a/v receiver is kind of designed for.

You'll need to add a usb key to the back to support profile 2.0, and the socket is recessed so it needs to be one of those tiny usb key things. I used the Sony Microdrive 2GB, and it's fine (the really thin one).

Connects to your network via an ethernet socket and notifies you when a firmware update is available. You just say yes to download and install.

It can also be made multi-region (for DVD playback only) using a sequence of codes from a One4All remote. Google should help you find this if required.

Great player. Voting hot.

All the hacks that I can find online involve use of a 'one for all' remote or downloading a file, so if you know of a simple method, I would be grateful for the info. Cheers.
