3D Glasses £3.49 delivered @ Sendit

£3.49

FOUND BY: amibees 4 months, 4 days ago

Should last a bit longer than cardboard ones :)
With 3D TV and cinema set to take off in the next few years, soon everyone will want to get in on the action with their very own pair of 3D glasses!

Light-years ahead of the flimsy old cardboard frames and thin red and green plastic lenses, our new 3D glasses have comfortable, high quality plastic frames and proper optical lenses.

The red and blue lenses are carefully tuned to get the best out of modern stereo imagery and the results are truly amazing!

So, if you want to truly appreciate the latest in 3D technology then dont bother with the tacky cardboard viewers that cinemas supply and get your very own top quality 3D glasses that you can take with you again and again.

Cinema's don't use red & blue glasses any more do they ? I though they only use polarised ones. For the Channel 4 3D week Sainsbury have stacks of free carboard glasses.

Thanks, but I think I'll stick to the free ones and spend the money I saved on some beer to go with it.

Ask for a free pair at your local Blockbuster store, they should have a stash of them.

Yes, it's next week too, so odds on you won't get them in time!

These glasses are useless for RealD as used in the cinema and Channel 4's programmes.

Blue and Red hasn't been used in the cinema since Jaws 3D in the early 80s. Time travellers may get good use out of these.

Anyone voting these down cold to get the free ones might be disappointed...

There's several different types of 3D processes. They are NOT compatible with one another. Modern cinema 3D uses polarisation rather than separating colours, and aren't compatible with DVD/VHS/TV techniques. Of the ones split by colour (aka anaglyph), Channel 4 are using blue/beige and a lot of recent DVDs such as My Bloody Valentine and Journey To the Centre Of The Earth use green/purple.

The glasses above are red/cyan and are for the classic techniques used by 3D movies of the 50s and 80s (and Freddy's Dead) as well as numerous printed 3D materials. You won't be able to view a red/cyan movie properly with the blue/beige glasses as, well, they're the wrong damn colour. Use the freebies for the Channel 4 event, a pair of these works great for older movies and books - voted hot as the next cheapest I've seen them is for £5 on Play.

Blue & red was definitely used for Freddy's Dead, as I still have my pair. A lot of DVD releases of older movies still use the technique - my DVD of Amityville 3D definitely has it.
