Lovely looking kettle. Does it show every mark though?

I have the exact same kettle, in a stainless steel finish.... and that's the problem - it has a film of material over a plastic body (in this case black film, in mine, it is shiny metallic material)

Apart from a very poor lid which jams often, it was fine at first, although the film damages very easily but even if not damaged, after a few months of usethe film starts to lift off the plastic underneath (& looks awful!), then soon after that starts to crack off

Not very durable at all

After several years & several kettles of various flash looks & costing lots of cash, I now buy cheapo kettles which funnily enough are proving more durable, alot of deterioration seens to come from the seating of cordless kettles, especially the round male/ female connection which braeaks off ALOT!

try not to spend more than £8.00 on em now, & not having to argue with various brands customer service (inclusive of the above brand) who invariably IF they pick it up for examination, will say " you didn't de-scale it every week in a hard water area so the warranty is void" ..cop out every time, thats the only guarantee you get witha kettle.

Heat added. Reserved pick up tomorrow to replace our aging pile of cr*p which boilds its guts out everytime it boils...
Question: Could this be considered a Xmas pressy for the other half or is that just showing up my northern tightness?

Got a Russell Hobbs toaster and kettle as wedding gifts, the led in the 'on' button went within a year and the limescale filter didn't last much longer.

The toaster jammed once and nearly burnt the house down.

On both items the labels come off when wipped - really not handy on a toaster!

I wouldn't buy another Russell Hobbs item after those experiences.

Stainless steel isn't all that, it expells all the heat through the skin and is quite dangerous.

Just offering an opinion on the brand asscociated to the deal is all folks.
