This game will run on my PC but I get very poor frame rates. I have an ATI 4870 and AMD 5000: I know it's not the best processor but I can play most other games no problems. Like madwelsh, I also put it down to poor programming.
To play the game at console settings and resolutions you really dont need much of a machine.:
Xbox 360 runs @ 1280 x 720 roughly 20-30 Frames Per Second
Texture Quality: Medium
Shadow Quality: Medium
Render Quality: Low
Reflection Resolution: Medium
Water Quality:Medium
Shadow Density: No equivalent
Vsync: off
Detail Distance: 20
Vehicle Density: 11
View Distance : 21
A decent dual core CPU and something like a 9600GT can manage these settings and at a higher resolution. My laptop can manage these easily! Try them for yourself.
Actually MAXING the game is another story. you NEED a fast quad core, and something like a 1GB radeon 4890. The game is VERY CPU bound. A quad core i7 machine with a GTX260 would for example trounce a dual core machine with a GTX285. I think those specs are fair enough. the game looks absolutely incredible maxed out, the console versions are horrible in comparison. I play it maxed on my PC, and recently returning to Ballad of Gay Tony on 360 is eye searingly shocking.....
