First deal I've found so please be kind.

Other photo frames may be cheaper.
But this is the first 12 Megapixel one ive seen

Don't think it is real 12Mpix as it should have resolution of 4000x3000 for this.
I guess it CAN take pictures of 12Mpix or, most likely it is 1.2Mpix, which still quite good for the price.
Note that 10% off doesn't apply to Collect at Store.

No way is it even 1.2MP - I'm guessing it's the same low resolution 16:9 display 480x234 or similar. I've no idea whose bright idea it was to make all these photo frames widescreen when most cameras are not widescreen. I reckon your first guess is correct and it will downsample 12MP photos which seems rather pointless as it's just going to waste space.

Searching on the model number returns a mustek branded one so it may well be a rebadged mustek. Details here at amazon

Well the description actually states 12Megapixel display and it shows that on the item description screen and the specification screen.
I've printed this out and if its only a 480*234 frame (only 0.1Megapixels) then they will be getting it back. To be honest I'm hoping its a 1.2 Megapixel screen.

If this is indeed Mustek frame, then it is 480x234. What is the point of displaying 12Mpix image on 0.11Mpix screen?

It supports 12mp files just like it supports 1mp, 2mp, 3mp etc. etc. files... it just means it can show images that are up to 12mp in size, but downsizes them for display. It's a cheap trick to suck unsuspecting people in. Like John said it'll almost certainly be 480x234 and hence look pretty cr*p, like the hundreds of others out there.

thinking about getting one for my Nanna with lots of photos one.

I read somewhere these things cant be on 24/7 i.e. not more than 8 hours at a time.

Does this apply to all of them or just models I seen - what bout this one?

I think you're wasting your time to be honest, the model number corresponds to the Mustek frame as does the price/size combination.

To be honest I think all of you that are posting links and stating its the mustek one are jumping the gun.
It is advertised as 12 Megapixel Display not can display 12 Megapixel images - very different. Yes it could be a misprint on the description but then again it might be a misprint and be 1.2Megapixels in which case its still a very good price.
OK it might be the mustek one, then again it might not be.
Why not wait until I get it tomorrow and make a judgement then.
