Ive read that it is because of a huge over supply in the market. Prices would actually be lower, but then companies like samsung and micron would be accused of dumping which is illegal. I suppose this may have something to do with the convictions of people involved in pricefixing case.

Dumping - selling a product for below its cost.

Good deal, shame about the retailer. Good luck if it's faulty. ;)

Bad experience with an RMA eh? All companies have their share of bad apples. However, ocuk pride themselves on the quality of service they give (something which they have to do since they are usually the most expensive out of the big sites). My experiences with them have been good so far.

voted cold due to the extremely poor reputstion of this retailer, both in aftersales and the treatment of their staff.

Not to take anything away from the OP, good find, just a shame that it wasn't from a different retailer.

Ordered the same 2GB dual channel kit from Micro Direct on 11/04/07 for £100 odd delivered! Glad I didn't order two pairs.

Thinking of taking a chance and ordering a second pair from Overclockers at this price.

Thanks to OP.

Shame the cheapest delivery option is £5.25 + vat just for a couple of sticks of RAM. Crucial can manage free delivery (3-5 days) or Special Delivery for just £2.49 + vat.

I use proper retailers, not a shabby little lock up in a back street of Stoke on Trent. ;) They have their own share of bad apples and every other retailers in the UK, commone knowledge amongst those in the know. (only their merry band of forum users would disagree)

Sorry but I'm gonna have to step in here. Whats this bad rep? For a start, ebuyer, overclockers and scan seem to be the big 3 in many communities not just overclockers forums (of which I'm not a member).

I've bought many many times from them, had stuff delivered, and been down to Stoke to pick stuff up. I've had one graphics card die after about a month, and admittedly the RMA wasn't the easiest I've ever had, but it wasn't the hardest either.

Everytime I've been there, there has been a packed shop full of people wanting to spend money, and friendly staff.

I'm not accusing anyone of lying but it seems to me there has been a couple of bad experiences and as usual people are trying to force people to agree with their opinions.

Overclockers are fine, and I'll be getting this offer at the weekend to save on postage.

By the way, backstreet yes, but they are in a unit on a (i believe) old tramway depot which seems well full of other shops too. Not great to look at from outside, but perfectly fine inside.

Never had any problems with OCuk. Had a PSU explode on me, after 10 mins, got it RMA'd, no fuss.

EDIT: checked the RAM I bought in december.... Was 176 (inc vat), now 82 (inc vat)!!!!!!!!!! omg!!!!!!!
